This fund will allow RGISC to continue to expand critical environmental work in the areas of research, advocacy, and awareness focused on three main programs:
1. One is the ambitious binational river restoration project that Ambassador Ken Salazar invited us to spearhead;
2. Another is our work to pilot real infrastructure solutions to conserve water to help save our river, as our region enters a period of drought; and
3. The third is our work on a groundbreaking fenceline air monitoring program that we are designing through the Clean Air Laredo Coalition and EPA to deal with the high level of cancer-causing emissions in Laredo from a sterilizer plant.
