Since our inception in 1994, our mission has been to preserve and protect the Rio Grande-Rio Bravo, its watershed and environment, through awareness, advocacy, research, education, stewardship and bi-national collaboration for the benefit of present and future generations.
For over 25 years, RGISC has filled an important role as an environmental educator, thought leader, and convening organization in the community, bringing together citizens, government entities, and water users to safeguard the watershed. The Rio Grande watershed in Laredo is experiencing several negative impacts that affect water availability, water quality, and wildlife habitats. Recently, our work has expanded into fighting the proposed Border Wall and building a watershed science stakeholder group that can address water security threats to our region. Choices we make today to conserve this river ecosystem directly impact the survival of the river for future generations.
While volunteers are the beating heart of the RGISC mission, funding is crucial to completing our community projects. By becoming a member, you become the core support to achieving our mission of protecting the Rio Grande. Please consider becoming a member of the tier that works best for you. Each tier has its own sets of perks, and we are excited to continue to share our work with all our supporters!
