Allison Guzman is the Justice40 Program Manager at RGISC. In this position, she acts as a conduit for Justice40 information, resources, programming, and funding opportunities with counties Webb, Zapata, Starr, Maverick, La Salle, and Jim Hogg. Her primary goal is to bring federal dollars to the South Texas communities that need it the most.
Prior to this, she lived in Washington, DC for four years, working for the U.S. Dairy Export Council on the marketing team. Before that, she interned at National Public Radio (NPR) under the External Marketing team, at Lake Research Partners, a national polling firm, and at the Senate, in Senator Bob Casey’s press office.
In 2019, she graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a B.A. in Ethics, History, & Public Policy with minors in Professional Writing and International Relations. Her honors thesis was titled “Concessional Districts in Texas: The Struggle for Representation for Parties and Minorities.” Currently, she is taking classes online at University of Alaska to pursue a degree in Fisheries & Ocean Sciences to work at the intersection of marine wildlife conservation and policy.
When asked about her greatest accomplishment in life, Ms. Guzman had this to say,” Giving birth to my son, Murphy Melkor Guzman, is the greatest thing to ever happen to me. Motherhood really changes you, and I look forward to all the dog-friendly places life takes me and my corgi.”
Her interests include combatting the climate crisis, saving the whales, and work-life balance.
