The federal government is pushing a massive land grab along the Rio Grande that would impact South Texas communities for the next century. Their plan includes a 30-foot steel wall, a restricted Security Enforcement Zone, and dangerous razor-disc buoys across our endangered river. In Laredo, this threatens thousands of residents in 20 riverfront neighborhoods, as well as parks, trails, businesses, and ranches. It would destroy hundreds of millions in investments and cut off our river access — wiping out future cultural, recreational, and economic opportunities for our community.
