Dr. Anjala has a Ph.D. in Forest Sciences from Lakehead University, Canada, where she studied leaf morphological and anatomical variations of paper birch populations along environmental gradients across Canada. She holds a Master's degree in Forest Ecology and Management from Albert-Ludwigs University, Germany. Further enhancing her research skills, she completed a Postdoctoral Associate position at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, where she gathered data for a behavioral ecology experiment that examined the effects of varying goldfish densities on predator behavior.
To expand her expertise, Dr. Anjala completed a Post Graduate Program in Data Science and Business Analytics at The McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin. Her mix of experience in forest science and data analysis helps her develop effective solutions for environmental challenges.
Dr. Anjala also worked as a Program Officer for the Himalayan Grassroots Women's Natural Resource Management Association (HIMAWANTI) in Nepal. There, she advocated for women's role in managing natural resources, conducting ecological, and social impact assessments, generating comprehensive reports and strategic plans, and preparing and submitting proposals to funding organizations to support research and conservation efforts. She gained internship experience as a Research Assistant with the Misereor-Asia Department's Climate Change and Justice Project in Germany. Dr. Anjala also interned at the Mammal Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Science in Poland, where she assisted in field data collection for a project on the impact of landscape structure on the genetic diversity of the yellow-necked mouse in north-eastern Poland.
