Annette Maldonado began her journey in environmental work at RGISC in 2023 as the Development and Membership Manager. With a passion for sustainability and community engagement, she leads initiatives to enhance donor relations and expand membership outreach, fostering a strong network of supporters committed to environmental conservation. Annette organizes member and special events, promotes fundraising initiatives, and writes the monthly RGISC newsletter.
A former certified public school educator, Annette has extensive experience teaching Reading and English I in the middle and high school setting. She draws upon this experience for the strategic vision and collaborative approach she brings to building partnerships that advance RGISC’s mission and make a meaningful difference in the fight for a greener community.
A graduate of Texas A&M International University, Annette holds a B.A. in History with a minor in Political Science and an M.A. in English. She successfully defended her M.A. thesis, Picking Up Where Thoreau Left Off: John Muir and Theodore Roosevelt, An Unlikely Partnership Bringing Thoreau’s Vision to Life, in 2014 and considers it the intersection for her love of history and literature and the catalyst for her interest in environmental conservation.
In her spare time, Annette is a voracious reader who enjoys traveling to new places, advocating for women’s rights, and spending time with her daughter, husband, and three pups, Lexi, Luna, and Pasqual.
