Ashley Cass is a Laredo native, communications professional, and longtime community organizer and builder who has recently returned home to the borderlands after two decades in Central Texas.

 With a background in digital media, event production, and grassroots community engagement, Ashley has spent much of her career bringing people together, bridging cultures, cultivating relationships, and creating spaces where stories and community voices can be heard.

Her return to Laredo marks both a personal homecoming and a new chapter of civic service. As Community Organizer with the Rio Grande International Study Center, Ashley is excited to listen and learn from the communities that shaped her early years, strengthen relationships across Laredo, and help advocate for the land, water, air and people of this borderland.

For Ashley, this work is deeply personal: it is an opportunity to tend to her roots while helping build a more resilient and connected future for the place she now calls home.
