Marisol is a Biology major at Texas A&M International University. She is part of the Honors Undergrad Research program, focusing on natural polymers for bio-medical applications and environmental remediation. Marisol is part of the USDA-funded program Science Influencers, where students become effective, influential communicators of science in the public domain. The Science Influencers program is highly competitive as it only selects six students from the A&M system. Marisol is passionate about public health, community science, and the environment. During her time with RGISC, she spearheaded the groundbreaking CALOR campaign in collaboration with The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) to collect ground-level environmental data for the first time in Laredo, Texas.
